Arminius and his men were lightly armed.
They suffered less from the storm.
The roman forces had greatly increased.
Their ranks were thinned.
Four days, three nights the battle took.
Four days, three nights legions resisted.
In the end Varus saw no resort.
He stabbed himself with his sword.
Three legions annihilated.
The soil soaked their blood.
