[Chapter IV: The Cursed Promise]
Through the rupture of dimensions I've crawled to reach this wondrous place. From the dreaded depths of Onkrea I've come to claim the one that holds my heart. The chaotic path through emptiness has come to end and I've arrived to sacred Dakrea, where reign the celestial gods, where impure souls were never to reach, yet here I stand undaunted in defiance of the cosmic laws purportedly unbreakable! And before me is the fabled plain of heaven, a sight reminiscent of my vision, yet no inner peace is felt this time.
As I step into sacred soil seven angels surround me. Threatening me with fiery spears, they command me to leave at once. Channeling dark energy, I evoke my demon powers. I lift forth my mighty blade and prepare for combat.
"No guardian that tries to bar my path may ever hope to stop me!
No hero that dares to face my wrath may ever hope to best me!"
Against my hellish sword the angels stood no chance. For the first time in their ancient lives they have tasted fear. Insulting their vanity, I tear the feathers from their wings, and shining golden blood now stained the holy ground.
"Halt! Foul soul! I am Archangel Armael, the great protector of the heaven plain. Kneel before me now mortal, and I shall bless you with a quick demise!"
"You know not the power you have just defied. I am no mere mortal."
Wasting no time, I hurled at him a bolt of flames. Yet it was in vain as a magic mantle shielded him. And so began the duel, and like lightning our swords clashed, with serenity he evaded all my anger driven strikes.
Though my power is great, to Armael it seemed to be no threat, making me consider death a likely outcome to this fight. From afar his name was called and suddenly he turned his back. Catching him off-guard, I seized the moment and swiftly stabbed his heart.
"Had I not interfered, you would now be dead. We meet again. I am Lokena, goddess of purity and light. I am glad you have succeeded in coming this far, for I was expecting you. Yes, I have beckoned you here. I too have no greater wish than to be ever united with you. Take me with you, to wherever you wish to go. Promise me only one thing - that you will never yield me to Atrox, as he ordered you to.”
Finally the goddess I have found, yet my quest has still not come to end, for not only the heavens abhor me but the underworld will as well. I have broken the pact the moment I promised her that no black god will have us, and forever I will defend her.
Through the rupture of dimensions I've crawled to reach this wondrous place. To the divine realm of Dakrea I've come to claim the one that holds my heart. In this cursed plain I have found her and together we will return to dreaded Onkrea, to defeat the demonic gods. Atrox may send his army of fiends, I will face them undaunted, in defiance!
